Bleaching.-Cotton-seed waste or other cellulose material is bleached, preparatory to the manufacture of nitro-cellulose, by means of a solution containing sodium or potassium chloride and oxychloride, preferably prepared by the process described in Specification No. 5596, A.D. 1901, Abridgment Class Acids, alkalies, &c.]. This bleaching process is stated to remove silica from the waste.
